The secret role will be the first time the star has been seen on screen since shedding a staggering 5.5 stone.
Joking she trimmed down to get more wide ranging roles, Rebel said on stage while hosting the glitzy ceremony: “I might look a bit different from the last time you guys saw me here.
“Clearly it was to get the attention of Robert Pattinson. No seriously, it was to get more acting roles. I can now play the non-funny love interest in an Adam Sandler movie.”
Seemingly keen not to over indulge during the evening which saw her party hop from the official dinner to the Vogue and Tiffany and Co’s after party at exclusive Mayfair members club Annabel’s, Rebel opted to swerve the free-flowing Taittinger champagne in favour of a humble Diet Coke and switched out the duck main course for a pre-ordered veggie meal.

Explaining how worried BBC bosses asked her to ditched a string of risky gags hours before the ceremony was due to kick off, Rebel said: “I was so nervous. So, so nervous. I was there from 9am at the hall and they kept cutting things out and changing things. I didn’t want to offend. I just tried to keep it moving. I tried to keep it light.”

Awkwardly, a number of Rebel’s jokes about 007’s Daniel Craig fell slightly flat after the star shunned the ceremony due to work commitments in New York as he prepares for his new Broadway show Macbeth.
As well as joking she wanted to ‘sit on’ the buff star, Rebel also sported a large tattoo of his face on her ankle.

Admitting she wrote the jokes thinking he would be in the audience, she said: “He is the coolest guy.
“I was told he would come that was why I did some jokes as he would take it on the chin but then with the promotion for his show he couldn’t make it in the end.”
