A CELTIC star has been spotted at a posh Edinburgh restaurant with one of Hollywood’s most famous faces.

The reason they were dining together in the first place was thanks to the footie ace’s wag – but she couldn’t make it after a quite unbelievable sequence of events.

Podcast host and broadcast personality Brittany Hockley has been in the South African jungle for a month, having taken part in the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and finishing fourth, spending 27 days in camp.

She was supposed to fly back to meet up with boyfriend Benjamin Siegrist, sister Sheridan and some close pals.

One of whom is Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson, of Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect fame.

But after her flight was cancelled after SEVEN hours on the tarmac, she was forced to stay in South Africa longer than planned and she will now have to wait another two months to see her other half.

Wilson shared a picture of the group at The Ivy in Edinburgh, with Hockley’s seatnext to the Celtic goalie sadly empty.

Her story post read: “We saved @brittany_hockley a seat because she couldn’t get on the plane to Edinburgh,” alongside a sad face emoji.

Hockley was gutted to not be there and after accepting her flight had been cancelled and with no other alternative, lamented on having “never been more excited” to see Siegrist only to have it taken away.

She said: “Right now I was supposed to be in Scotland, surprising Ben for a short two days on my way home from the jungle. It cost me a lot, was a lot of organising and planning and a lot of flying time across the world to be able to see him and my sister @sherihealth for 48 hours. He had no idea and it would have been the ultimate surprise (I’m a romantic and hopelessly in love of you didn’t know).

“It’s been three months since I’ve seen Ben and I won’t be seeing him until June. Five months. That’s a long time apart and I’ve literally never been more excited to see him. Instead, I sat on the plane and the tarmac for seven hours until 1:30am before they said they were cancelling my flight. I couldn’t get another flight out. That’s never happened in all my travel and I can’t believe it happened now.

“I cried more than I have in a long time. It’s been a hard few days. Long distance is so hard anyway. But on top of a month in the jungle in a very emotional and stressful environment and with no contact with anyone, it would have been worth it for just one hug.

“Instead, all my people are now together and I’m just here trying to get as close to this giraffe as possible because it’s @bxn__s92 closet living relative…”

Hockley shared Wilson’s post too before updating her own followers about her latest feelings.

She wrote: “To make my flight cancellation worse… all my favourite people are together. Never have I been happy whilst simultaneously sad.”

Before adding: “To be clear, I LOVE that my worlds are always colliding, so that it’s not like I’m living two separate lives. Which is sometimes how I feel. I just hate that I’m never there for so much of it!

“But how great that my family and friends and Ben can all be together without me!

“Hopefully one day I can make my own wedding!”

Hockley used her spare time to go on safari, meeting zebras, lions and giraffes amongst other animals.
