REBEL Wilson didn’t touch alcohol until her mid-twenties after growing up seeing alcohol destroy her grandma.
The Australian actress, 40, opened up about the devastation of seeing alcohol-induced dementia first hand.

On Sky Original Straight Talking with Ant Middleton, which airs tomorrow on Sky One at 9pm, she said: “One of my grandmas was an alcoholic. She got alcoholic dementia, just purely from alcoholism, so she wouldn’t have probably had the dementia if she didn’t drink.
“Seeing that at a young age, really made me not be into drinking. I don’t think I actually had like a glass of wine or something until I was 25.”
Like normal dementia, alcoholic dementia causes someone to tell the same stories or ask the same questions over and over, with no recollection that the questions have just been asked and answered.
Rebel shot to fame in 2011 for her role in Bridesmaids and then won legions of fans as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect.

During the one-off episode, she also discussed how she has struggled to find love over the years.
In the trip to the Mexican desert, she revealed she’d spent 2019 accepting every date she was asked out on.
“I did an experiment where I dated anyone who asked me out [in 2019]. Anybody who asked me out I had to say yes.
“It was part of the rules of that year, not that I told people that was happening. I just had to give lots of people a chance and then I learnt lots about myself.”
